Uncle Sam needs to know, "HavE YoU bE3n to ISReal?" If not, "WHen R YOO gOinG?
I have been meaning to discuss the Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) for some time. When Trump was re - elected, I stocked up, took care of my major medical surgery before Medicaid gets cut and left that shitty job, on my terms. I felt a little giddy with freedom and wanted to “do something”. I ended up at a DSA meeting. There was a round robin introduction - a lot of white lawyers and white social workers. I used to work in the NYC shelter system and there is a difference between what we do and what “they” do. It was weird to see them at a DSA meeting and never encountering these people “in the field”. It was a nice multiculti mix, nice healthy age range. What through me off was the false sense of … rebellion plotting, this was all scripted out as a meeting to discuss the Trump administration, but the only thing they were pushing was Mamdani. They asked us questions like, “Who knows what socialism is?” and read from a slide. Then directed us to sign up to volunteer for Mamdani’s campaign. Who? Listen, that canvassing thing is something every kid experienced in the fake job market. the people who stop you onn the street asking if you would like to provide your debit card information for a monthly Save the ____, contribution or knocking on doors of the musty Upper East or West Side liberal hovels of exclusion to talk about this Democrat or discuss this proposal. I heard, “Do you want to sign up for unpaid labor for a candidate you never heard of and know absolutely nothing about?” A man who didn’t even show up to request our free time or tell us why we should give our time to him.
The DSA and Working Families Party function on a two-tiered system that is at the core of the Democratic Party. The larger Democratic Corporation, really. So, first, you have to be a paying member of the DSA and then be voted into a committee to be in the people who actually pick the candidates or hear them speak. Everyone else is doing the free labor for a candidate they had no say in choosing, just “motivated” to believe in. These are the “volunteers” the campaigns speaks about, half truthfully. Mamdani is problematic because of how is he both the nepo and recipient of super wealthy liberal support, but claims he is going to fund all his programs by taxing the (same) group of rich New Yorkers? Mamdani is also showy and well poised, highly sus. In city council for 2 years and obtained citizenship 3 years ago. In what New York City is that not a movie plot set in the 80’s with either Richard Pryor/Eddie Murphy and Gene Wilder/Dan Ackroyd? This African Canadian transplant was voted into the city council 2 years ago and thinks he can run the city by taxing the slipperiest snakes, greediest special lobby groups. Like this people don’t vote their pocketbook, too. Like this lil rich boy didn’t do the same his adult life. The fake left of NY is rife with privileged kids who upon adulthood and related responsibility state, “Naw, we should just share everything” and fall back on worshipping dead white men. Furious debating and performing online, ‘what should a leftist read?’ and ‘how should a leftist feel?’
What am I trying to say? Mamdani, is the personification of a well-connected vessel, tap dancing effortlessly, another bogus brand x Obama circa 2008, if you really want to know his vintage. He is saying what a lot of working poor people like and want to hear. Mamdani is for the working class as someone who has never worked and went straight into city council upon getting his citizenship. He’s a well-connected, thirsty social media, self-manufactured entity created by the undemocratic process of being selected in the many tentacled Democratic Party. He is inauthentic when he speaks about affordable housing, because look a little closer and he is talking about the raising rents on the rich in the wealthy New York neighborhoods. A rent freeze for all rent stabilized units. Rent stabilized units are apartments and buildings constructed before 1974. In 1974 there were 643,140 apartments. (Google: How many apartment buildings in NYC in 1974?). If you ask about how many apartment buildings were built from 1974 to present, you will find, via nyc.gov, from 1974 to 2021 over a million apartments have been constructed. Are we getting clarity? Mamdani is not talking to the working poor. Mamdani is coasting on the fact that not enough NY’ers understand “rent subsidized apartments” are the cheap rent in historically prime elite real estate the “working poors” could never, 50th to 98th Street on either side, ever get into. Mamdani is speaking about a housing issue, and it sounds universal, but he is really conning people into protecting the rich’s cheap and fancy housing. This is the disease of the fake left, the dirt bag left indeed. Remember them, the trust fund kids with a podcast, named after a Mexican drug king pin, selling you books on how to do revolution and teaching college classes on Marx? To his credit Mayor Adams has done a phenomenal job in regard to building affordable housing. No NY’er can claim they are not seeing them on every other block and in every single neighborhood. Now ask these people why they have not applied on the city website? Old grease ball, NYC politics: Mamdani plans to secure the votes of the rich and working poor, while ensuring the rich continue to live cheap in affordable prime real estate and directing the poors to the brand-new Mitchell - Llama apartment buildings all over the city that can be applied for and documents uploaded on your cell phone. And prioritizes City employees and is ADA compatible. It angers me, as a native NY’er and someone who has worked in social services.
These DSA and fake left phonies play too many games. Mamdani cannot alone make the buses free, he would need a coalition in the City Council
, and no one in the City Council has called for him to be anything other than deported, much less step forward to say they are ready to implement this when Mamdani steps into office. Who is the bus for? NYC fact: the buses are free 90% of the time. Why didn’t this man talk about free subways? City owned grocery stores? No. Those food desert areas want to own their own grocery stores. The state is not a trustworthy partner, and the plan solidifies the same type of dependency “them folks” will complain about poor people even having. Why is he perpetuating reliance on the state when the state politics change every 4 years? Furthermore, do we really believe Associated and other city and small grocery stores are going to be okay with that? Feels like wards of the state and more technofuedalistic than I think Mamdani understands. It just sounds cool, from his website, “…a network of city groceries…”, that don’t exist now, people, none of that exists now. Sooo, … he’s selling pipedreams to the working poor as he is funded by the super-rich and working their plans to keep their rent affordable. Who do you think will cover those costs? The mayor is not able to tax the rich and this foolishness needs to stop. Politicians are funded by the rich. I can’t trust a guy claiming the affordable housing I see everywhere isn’t there or making Elon-esque big plans based on an idea he had and if enough of us believe, like Tinkerbell it will come alive.
I also didn’t like what I found about Mamdani, either. Early on, he used to tout he was African, in that tongue and cheek way, “them folks” do. He went to Brooklyn College to study African History, why? His family left Uganda because Ugandans had driven out the white settlers. The white settlers left their Indian/East Asian (model and tolerable) minority behind. The Indians/East Asians took over the shops and Ugandans drove them out too. See, I live in a world where people like to play with my history and my culture in my face and Mamdani is doing just that. The same pantomime sickness that had Bill Clinton playing the saxophone, Hillary pulling hot sauce out her purse, African Canadian Mamdani coming to the debate with a marching band, but no Black people in his campaign, Charlemagne tha God being the “BLACK stop” for politicians to go (at least it’s not our churches, amirite?) or Harris messaging blacks with a twerking sex rapper and Lil John (the whole time weaving a reality in which the Blackest thing about her, her Jamaican father did not exist - he’s in Jamaica, y’all) or Kamala stating she was “washing greens in her bathtub” (Ma’am), Vivek, being a former Obama hippity hop bro on his Ivy Leage campus, Pete Buttigieg and Shapiro imitating Obama’s oratory style, Buttigieg having a problem with Black voters and getting himself a pair of Black children to campaign with for 2028. I’mma just have to stand on business - NO! I don’t trust him, and he makes me want to look up what the Green Party is doing, socialists with conviction. What is the Green Party doing? I’m find out this summer. Lastly on Mamdani, the greasy fraud, NYC has Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Teams for intensive mental health services, Intensive Case Management that is not directly linked to OMH, like ACT, AOT Teams for mental health and forensics, safe havens and drop in centers for people who are too fragile for city shelters, city shelters, D/V shelters, emergency Medicaid, clinics and care coordinators, street outreach teams, mobile crisis vans, city hospitals, inpatient, outpatient substance treatment for the homeless - ENOUGH! A lot of the street outreach teams for the homeless will not even come for a person in the train or in the McDonald’s and you have to download the 311 app to notify them. The homeless are being used to hype up a need for more surveillance and more police, when we know that longer hospitalizations, better correction facilities and staff, discharges to supportive housing, not the street and actual follow up to ensure medication and social rehabilitative treatment services are being used. (Personal opinion: ACT is staffed by lazy Social Workers who are also profiting off not helping the people they are hired to help because they, too can just blame the client for bad results).
BACK TO THE DEBATE:
Andrew Cuomo brought some crazy wild energy, called Zionism, to the stage. Family, this man will likely win. NY Times reports, Cuomo has a super pac of 10 million dollars that was fined over $650,000 for hiding money. Mamdani’s COWORKER, another city council member spiked the ball pre debate about Mamdani’s citizenship, being anti semitic and called for his deportation. When will the real McCarthyism start? Because this feels like a preview. Cuomo was, sleazy, playing the I’m Trumpish, not Trump, though and waited patiently, all night to say he is” a friend of Isreal”, and the actual debate began. They went for the one shred of real or performed dignity Mamdani does have. He is the only person on the stage who is not connected to AIPAC and the only person who is firm on one state, no special states for special people. In Cuomo’s world that Zionist money and keeping the Dems in their pocket is what really matters. Cuomo offered nothing and with 10 million in the bank and a few years out of office, he doesn’t have to. The American people have shown a desire to be controlled and a desire to cause pain I looked through the candidates’ profile and all of them spoke about affordable housing. I hope it has been clear NYC is full up of affordable housing. This is the B S, whoever wins is just going to ride the grand wave of affordable housing started by Mayor Adams.
If Adams taps into the race, boldly on an ‘I am not tethered to Trump’, swipes the light weights away with the reality that he has already built the affordable housing (which we all see) and just goes ham on Cuomo - the accusations, COVID era nursing home deaths, those daily news conferences and Cuomo’s Trumpiness as opposed to Eric’s. Adams also can play to Zionism as a person of color, which erases the racist nature and intent of the belief; especially for casual political media consumers and gives many DEms what they want, just like Republicans: an ability to racist, but cloak it in other social justice outfits. It makes people feel less racist and people just want to feel good. We will see. Two sold out clowns from the Corporation and one old man who is still wearing Guardian Angel outfits when he knows he goes to the other car when things are looking dicey. I liked the subways when they shut them down from 2am to 4:30am during COVID. Stop pretending this is the 1990’s, there is nowhere to be anymore, even in NYC. Shutting the trains gives time to clean and enforces a new standard: you simply cannot live on the train and here is a safe place to go, get some help and a sorta decent sleep. The Green Party ain’t running, no one. Houchel vetoed a bill that would allow people who have served their time to sit on juries and these “justice democrats” will continue to suck up government research dollars to study how to make the criminal justice system fairer.
